We wish to register our sincere gratitude to God and Lifewater for the humanitarian assistance rendered to Godiya Baptist Church by building a community toilet for us. May the good Lord bless and reward the organization in Jesus' name. -- Rev. David O. Amos
Because they had no community toilets, members of the Godiya Baptist Church Lambata and surrounding community would defecate in the open. This led to environmental contamination and the spread of cholera and other diarrheal diseases. Also, girls and women who sought privacy during their toilet times by walking to secluded areas were sometimes attacked by roving sexual predators. To improve their sanitary and hygiene conditions, prevent the community from contracting potentially deadly diseases, and protect females from predators, residents asked Lifewater for help. We built community toilets and a hand-washing station, thanks to the generosity of our donors. David, the church's pastor, thanked Lifewater, saying: “You have ended our shame, diseases, and fears. You have given us dignity and saved our girls from sexual predators. May God bless the donors. We are grateful.”
