Florida Community

I present compliments and a heart-felt greeting to your institution for its purpose of providing safe drinking water for the many residents here. I am glad to extend our thanks and appreciation to your noble institution for providing us with a water well and hand pump for our community. Florida is along the Marshall Road in Liberia's lower Margibi County. People there earn a living by burning wood to create charcoal or by operating small businesses including some that make and sell arts and crafts featuring many of Liberia's traditional cultural images. For their drinking water, Florida residents have turned to local water vendors. Some people couldn't afford the vendors so they relied on open hand-dug wells or nearby creeks. That water isn't safe, says community leader Julie Moore, and has often left people with stomach pains, diarrhea, and even typhoid fever. Therefore, July and other residents of Florida were very grateful when donors enabled a Lifewater team to visit the community and drill a deep well that is providing safe and accessible water to meet everyone's needs. When the well project was completed, the community invited Lifewater to be part of a celebration that included prayer and praise songs to God. Pastor Jeremiah Sickie Kings Bible Way Church of God in Christ led the celebration. On behalf of everyone, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to God first and to the "Lifewater family" for their work in Florida.
