White Flower is a community within the Cotton Tree community in Liberia's Margibi County. Most of the 2,000 people living there are farmers and engaged in small trade. For their drinking water, the people of White Flower have struggled to afford what is available from local water vendors. For their other water needs, they have depended on shallow, hand-dug wells or walked long distances to other sources. Therefore, the community was very grateful when donors enabled Lifewater to drill a new well that is providing safe and accessible water to meet everyone's needs in White Flower. Community leaders also thanked Lifewater and our donors for the health and hygiene workshop that was part of the drilling project.
