The people of Zorzone Town, Forgetting Village in Liberia's Margibi County want to appreciate Lifewater and the entire team for repairing our well. -- Dolo Jackson, Community Leader
The well in this town in Liberia's lower Margibi County was drilled in 2014 and was its main source of safe drinking water. Then the well's hand-powered pump failed, due to population growth and over-use. After that, parts were vandalized and the well was abandoned. This forced most residents to gather water from shallow hand-dug wells and nearby creeks. Women would wake up early in the morning to fetch water, while children would walk long distances for water before going to school. Recently, thanks to our donors, Lifewater visited the area and rehabilitated the well including replacing the broken pump. It brought relief to everyone in the community. On behalf of all residents, local leaders thanked Lifewater and our supporters for restoring their hope and alleviating their suffering.
