Suffering humiliation to gather water

There was no public well in Max Ferere Vaudreuil, so people in the Haitian village of 400 were forced to beg for water from a family with a private well.

Despite their pressing need to fetch water several times a day, they risked visiting the family's well only a few times a week.

Why?

"Because it was always problematic when we would go knocking on the neighbors' gate," recalled village member Jean Stenio.

Haiti - Max Ferere Vaudreuil.jpg 847 KB"Sometimes when they didn’t want us to come, they released their dogs. We suffered so much humiliation to find some water.”

But all of that has changed, thanks to Lifewater donors like you, now that a new 100-foot well has been drilled in Max Ferere Vaudreuil.

Everyone has enough safe, accessible water, and Jean has been trained by Lifewater to serve as the well caretaker -- ensuring that it is maintained and available for everyone's use.

Thanks, Lifewater, for that well,” Jean says. “God sent you for us.”

Will you provide water in other communities that are also desperately needing help?
