Our Giving Tuesday Goal
This year, our goal is to raise $82,500 to provide 15 communities with new wells and access to safe, clean water.
When you give toward safe water, you’re giving the gift of more time for children to spend in school and less time walking long distances to collect water.
You’re giving women more opportunities to earn a living, provide for their family, and invest in their community. You’re giving the gift of improved health, better hygiene, renewed energy, greater dignity, new opportunities and lasting hope.

Your Gift goes far beyond a well
Story: Kivou 2 Community – Kenya (KC27-W009)
For the Kivou 2 community, accessing clean and safe water was a daily challenge. The community relied on getting water from the Kivou River. The river is located 4 hours from the town and is only available during certain seasons. During dry periods, families were then forced to depend on shallow wells that are often dirty and unsafe because animals would also use the same sources.
The women and children of the community spent a significant amount of time walking these long distances to collect water for their households. The journey for water limited their time for school, farming, caring for family, investing in the community and other important activities.
A new story began when Lifewater R.E.S.C.U.E Kenya, in partnership with Lifewater Canada, drilled a community well in Kivou 2. This well has brought a reliable source of clean and safe water closer to the community. Women and children are now able to spend less time searching for water and more time focusing on education, farming, and caring for their family
