A message from the community

We are so honored and blessed to have received your help through the construction of our well in Kawanga community. We promise to take care of our well even as it takes care of our water needs. May God bless you all.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The residents of Kawanga community in Kenya’s Kisumu County had not thought of a well as a clean source of water in the community as it was too much of a dream to them. This is because wells are expensive ventures, and the residents are farmers who barely earn enough to get by. However, a river in the village would supply the villagers with water, albeit not clean.

But recently, Lifewater Canada and Stada Kenya visited the village and constructed a new well for the community, and installed a new hand pump, so everyone can afford clean and safe drinking water.
