A message from the community

We are so grateful and happy to be able to access clean and safe drinking water after the repair of our broken hand pump. The community of Wendo would wish to express gratitude to Lifewater Canada and Lifewater RESCUE Kenya for the maintenance of our well.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The only source of safe water for children and adults living in Wendo community in Mwingi region is their local well. So, when the well's hand pump failed, everyone had to walk several kilometres to the nearest alternate source. The time needed for these trips at least once each day kept parents from income-earning opportunities and kept children from school. Lifewater donors brought hope back to the community by enabling us to repair the broken hand pump, and restore the flow of safe, easily accessible water.
