On behalf of our community, I write this letter with a heart full of gratitude and an overflowing excitement because you have done a big project in our community that will change our lives forever. Water has always been a problem in our community, a problem that we failed to solve over the years. So, we write to express our gratitude for the new well, and for going further to install it with a hand pump. Your service to our community is a thoughtful gesture that we will never forget. May God bless you abundantly. ---Community Leaders
People living Kandekethu community in Kenya’s Mwingi region would rely on rivers to supply them with the much-needed water. However, the rivers aren’t a reliable source of water because they are mostly dry, so residents make to dig shallow well on the dry riverbeds to meet their water needs. During a cute drought, even the shallow wells would end up dry, so the residents would spend hours in search of drinking and washing water. It is the plight of the residents of Kandekethu community that inspired Lifewater Canada and Lifewater RESCUE Kenya to drill a new well in the village and install a hand-powered pump. Residents of Kandekethu village are pleased and grateful to have a reliable source of clean and safe drinking and washing water.
