On behalf of Kavingasi community, we write this letter to express our gratitude to Lifewater Canada and Lifewater RESCUE Kenya for drilling a borehole in our community. We also thank you for equipping it with a hand pump so that we can easily collect water from the well We are happy because the well has solved our perennial shortage of water. May God bless you all. ---Community Leaders
Everyone in Kavingasi community had lacked access to clean water for most parts of the year for years. This is because Kavingasi community is part of the large Mwingi region community that is rivers which remain dry mostly. The villagers would walk for several kilometres in search of drinking and cleaning water. Whether the source of water they were able to access was a clean one was out of question because access to water was already a big problem. But not anymore, because considering this problem, Lifewater Canada and Lifewater RESCUE Kenya partnered to drill a well in Kavingasi community, and even installed a hand pump. The new well has given the residents a rare chance to easily access clean and safe drinking and washing water throughout the year.
