We, the people of United Evangelical Church, Gwagwalada Area Council in FCT, wish to thank Lifewater Nigeria for coming to our aid by providing and drilling borehole for us. We sincerely thank you for this kind gesture. Words along cannot express our gratitude. Yours faithfully, Agada Peter O. Church Secretary 07038285520
Kaida Road, Gwagwalada, is situated within the Gwagwalada Area Council of Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory (FCT), a region with a history stretching back to pre-colonial times, originally founded by the Bassa-speaking people. Gwagwalada, officially created in 1984, has grown into a significant urban center within the FCT, experiencing rapid population growth since the relocation of the capital to Abuja. The area around Kaida Road, while witnessing development, still faces challenges common to many parts of the FCT, including access to reliable and clean water sources. Many residents have historically relied on less secure and often contaminated options like streams, impacting their health and overall well-being. For the congregation of United Evangelical Church along Kaida Road and the wider community, this struggle for clean water was a harsh reality. As Pastor Thomos Okote, the coordinating minister, poignantly recounts: "My name is Pastor Thomos Okote, i am the coordinating minister of United Evangelical Church. The church and the community suffered greatly lacking clean water. Our only source was a dirty stream, the same stagnant stream where cows drink from. We had no choice but to use this contaminated water, though it brought much sickness. For months we prayed to God for relief from this hardship." Pastor Okote's words highlight the desperate situation faced by the community. Their only option for water was a source shared with animals and clearly unsafe, leading to widespread illness and impacting daily life. The simple act of obtaining water became a burden and a threat to their health. However, their prayers for relief were answered through the intervention of Lifewater. Pastor Okote's voice fills with gratitude as he describes the transformation: "Then Lifewater arrived and answered our prayers! The organization came and drilled a new source of water for us, now we have the incredible luxury of sparkling clean water right in our church center, free for all. No more trekking miles to that horrible stream! Our health returns, and our church overflows giving thanks for this precious gift." The provision of a clean, accessible water source right at the church has had a profound impact. It has eliminated the arduous and often unhealthy journey to the contaminated stream, bringing immediate relief and improving the health of the community. The church, once a place of prayer for this basic necessity, now overflows with gratitude for this tangible blessing. Pastor Okote's concluding words powerfully convey the community's appreciation: "We are so grateful for Lifewaters generosity. They turned our adversity into a blessing. May God richly repay their kindness immensely." This story from Kaida Road, Gwagwalada, underscores the life-changing impact of clean water, transforming a community's hardship into a testament of hope and gratitude. Your support makes these vital interventions possible, bringing health, dignity, and a brighter future to communities in need.
