Nestled within the historically rich Gbako Local Government Area of Niger State, a region shaped by the legacy of the Nupe people, lies the community of Sarki Gashe. Like many rural areas in this part of Nigeria, the struggle for reliable clean water has been a defining challenge, with residents historically dependent on sources often vulnerable to contamination and failure. This lack of a basic necessity had taken a particularly harsh toll on Sarki Gashe. For Salihu Moses and Sarki Gashe, their contaminated well was a source of immense suffering. "Our well had become a source of sickness... claiming the lives of some of our loved ones," Salihu recounts. Helpless, they watched their children weaken and mothers struggle. Lifewater's arrival brought a turning point. "Lifewater rehabilitated the well, and the impact was immediate and profound. Clean water restored health and happiness," Salihu explains. Children now thrive, and women can focus on their livelihoods. "The rehabilitated well is a blessing we will never take for granted," Salihu concludes. "Thank you, Lifewater, for saving our lives." This story highlights the life-saving impact of clean water, offering hope for a healthier future.
