A message from the community

We write to you today to express our gratitude for your generosity as regards of building a well in our school . This gift is truly transformative, concerning our day-to-day life. Prior to this we were dealing with countless challenges accessing clean and safe water; multiplying waterborne diseases to name a few: cholera, diarrhea and other parasitic infections, these illnesses can lead to dehydration, malnutrition … in children. We were reliant on distant and unsafe sources, resulting in poor hygiene overall health. Now thanks to your kindness, we have access to safe water; it being a source of health and wellbeing, reducing illnesses. We maintain better hygiene practices. The kids can now attend school regularly without worrying. You have brightened our Future. Thank you, a Lot. Ecole Congreganiste Saint-Dominique Savio.

On average villagers spend up to 2000 gds per week on bagged water. Until the new well was drilled, students brought water to school with them if they were able and could afford it.
