Village Dena

On behalf of the entire community of More-Rouge, Village Denar please accept our heartfelt thanks for your generous support in funding the construction of a new well. Before your kindness we dealt with waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, cholera etc. hindering our growth as a community, and often the well we had, could not supply for all of us and was at risk of contamination, so we had to walk long distances for water. Now thanks to your help we have seen a drastic decrease in illnesses, the children can now attend school regularly, our nutrition has improved, so has our bond as a community. We are entirely grateful for changing our lives. The community of Morne-Rouge, Village Denar.

This is a large community with around 600 people in it but many from the district come to access the new well. On average villagers walked 35 min to access another community well for their drinking water, which caused a lot of congestion around the well and some problems for that community. Most people spend 1200 gds per week on average for bagged water.
