A message from the community

We, the entire management and students of 1st Firm Liberty Kids Academy, Anguwan Cashew Chukuku Kuje Area Council, wish to thank Lifewater Nigeria for their kind gesture of providing us with a portable water supply. The school spends exorbitant money to access portable water, but from now on, we can boast of portable and abundant water. May God reward you for this mighty surprise. Yours faithfully, Adebunmi

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The 1st Firm Liberty Kids Academy, located within a community grappling with severe water scarcity, faced a daily battle for survival, as witnessed by its Headmistress, Grace Ochepo. "Our challenge here within the school and community is lack of water," she began, describing the arduous reality. Without a nearby well or stream, the very existence of the school was threatened, especially during the unforgiving dry season. Every morning, staff members were forced to fetch water in jerrycans, a taxing chore even before the school day officially began. Despite their desperation, applying for support from Lifewater felt like a long shot. "We didn't think anyone would listen," Grace admitted. However, Lifewater's arrival marked the beginning of a new, transformative chapter. The Lifewater team not only listened but acted decisively, surveying the site, drilling, and delivering a fully functional well right within the school grounds. The impact of Lifewater's intervention has been profound and immediate for 1st Firm Liberty Kids Academy. "Since then, our operations have been smooth," Grace shared, her voice brimming with immense gratitude. The constant struggle for water is now a distant memory. Pupils no longer fall sick from drinking contaminated water, ensuring better health and consistent attendance. The burden on staff has been lifted, allowing them to focus on their primary mission: educating the children. "Thank you so much Lifewater for wiping off tears from our eyes," Grace concluded, expressing the deep appreciation felt by the entire school and community. "May the streams of your kindness never run dry. May the light you have brought into our lives also shine forever in your lives." Lifewater's commitment has not only provided a vital resource but has also brought stability, health, and a brighter educational future to 1st Firm Liberty Kids Academy.
