I wish to write and appreciate Lifewater Nigeria on behalf of Kwaku community which humbly came and rehabilitate our borehole in Kuje Area Council, FCT-Abuja. Despite the fact that the population of four thousand five hundred people in our community will be difficult to manage one borehole. So sir, we will be happy and more grateful if the number of the borehole should be more than one, thanks and God bless you abundantly (amen). Yours faithfully, Abdullahi Magagi 07063451707
The women of Kwakwu community once bore the immense weight of severe water scarcity, a daily struggle that dictated every aspect of their lives, from basic hygiene to the well-being of their children. "My name is Lara Shahibu, I am the women leader here in Kwakwu community," she begins, her voice conveying profound relief and joy. "The coming of Lifewater has brought us so much joy and relief. We are so grateful to the organization for helping us rehabilitate the broken borehole in our village. May God bless you for what you have done." Lara vividly recounts the harsh realities they faced: "Before this, life was very hard, we had to depend on rainwater or go far into the bush to find water from unsafe sources. Sometimes, we dug holes in the sand just to get a little water. It was always dirty." This paints a stark picture of a community forced to resort to desperate and dangerous measures for water. The consequences were devastating: "Our children got sick, and our clothes were always dusty and smelly because there wasn’t enough water to wash. Even to cook food, we struggled." The lack of clean water led to rampant illnesses among children, compromised hygiene, and immense difficulty in preparing food. However, the intervention of Lifewater brought a transformative change. "The rehabilitation of the borehole feels like a heavy burden has been lifted off our shoulders," Lara shares with deep gratitude. This act of restoring their primary water source has brought immediate and widespread relief. The impact is profound and deeply felt throughout Kwakwu. "The borehole is working, and clean water is now always available. We are no longer afraid of getting sick. We bathe, cook, and wash without stress. Life feels normal again." The consistent availability of clean water has eliminated the fear of illness, restored basic hygiene, and made daily tasks like cooking and washing effortless. Life, once dominated by the arduous search for water, has returned to a state of normalcy and comfort. "Lifewater has given us a Gift that will last us a lifetime and we pray that God bless you all with long life and good health. We are thankful from our hearts," Lara concludes, her heartfelt words echoing the collective appreciation of the entire Kwakwu community. The story of Kwakwu is a powerful testament to how restoring access to clean water can lift immense burdens, improve health, and bring invaluable joy and a sense of normalcy back to a community that had long suffered its absence.
