Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The community of Mararaba Dandaudu had long endured the hardships of a broken borehole, forcing them to rely on an unsafe and inconvenient water source. This struggle impacted their health, consumed their time, and created constant worry for families. "My name is Danlamin Jagaba from Mararaba Dandaudu. I am here to express my sincere gratitude to Lifewater for restoring the community’s dilapidated borehole. Your help has brought hope and life back to us," he begins, expressing profound appreciation. Danlamin vividly recalls their past challenges: "When our borehole was broken, we relied on a nearby pond that was not clean. Women spent hours each day traveling for water, and the dirty water made many of us ill. It was a constant worry for families." This paints a clear picture of arduous journeys for contaminated water, leading to widespread illness and persistent anxiety for the community. Today, thanks to the intervention of Lifewater, that difficult reality has been transformed. "Today, because of the rehabilitated borehole, our lives have been made much easier. Clean water is available right in the village centre." The restoration of their vital water source has brought immediate and widespread relief. The impact is profound and deeply felt throughout Mararaba Dandaudu. "Our children enjoy better health, and the long hours of gathering water are a thing of the past. Life has become a lot less stressful." The consistent availability of clean water has directly led to improved health outcomes for children and significantly reduced the daily burden on women. The pervasive worry and stress have been replaced by a newfound sense of ease and well-being. "Thank you for coming to our rescue, May God reward you all with blessings in return for your kindness," Danlamin concludes, his heartfelt words reflecting the deep appreciation of the entire Mararaba Dandaudu community. The story of Mararaba Dandaudu is a powerful testament to how restoring access to clean water can alleviate immense suffering, improve health, and bring invaluable hope and peace of mind to a community that had long struggled.
