While prisoners of Voinjama Central Prison in Liberia's Lofa county are condemned to time in prison, Lifewater Canada and Lifewater Liberia ensured that they are not condemned to death by drinking from unsafe sources of water, because of lack of safe sources of water. Lifewater Canada ensured this by funding the construction of a well in Voinjama Central Prison and even installed a hand pump. Everyone in Voinjama Central Prison now has easy access to clean and safe drinking water.
