We write to you once again to thank you for the overhaul you did on our borehole. It was so broken that it would not last longer after repairs. It is our only clean source of water. We thank you for taking care of it so that it has the capacity to continue taking care of us. May God bless you all. ---Community Leaders
Kilawa community in Mwingi’s Kivou ward has a well that supplies clean and safe drinking and washing water to more than 200 residents. But for years, the residents were forced to walk for several kilometers to the nearby dry riverbed to collect water from a shallow well. Thankfully, Lifewater Canada and Lifewater RESCUE Kenya visited the village and replaced the well’s broken hand pump while doing a thorough rehabilitation on it, so clean and safe drinking and washing water is now flowing in Kilawa community.
