A message from the community

Today, our new borehole was completed and on behalf of everyone in Koganyo, I want to express our deepest gratitude. For years we struggled with long walks, uncertainty about water quality, and time lost to fetching water. Now, with the borehole finished, our children can spend more time in school, families will for sure enjoy Cleaner water, and daily life will from today feel Lighter and Safer. Small garden and household activities are already showing signs of benefiting and we can already see hope for better health and Livelihoods. Your team worked professionally and with great care. They explained how everything works, trained us on. health, water health and benefits, maintenance, and treated our Community with respect and patience made us feel involved and valued and not just recipient of help. This borehole is more than a water source, it's a fresh start for our community. We promise to look after it and use it wisely. We will keep you updated on the difference it makes here and would be honored to support or Collaborate on future initiative. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for making today possible. With Sincere appreciation. Issa Omondi On behalf of Koganyo Community

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

While residents of Koganyo community in Kisumu county were able to access water, they barely had any access to clean water, and even collecting unsafe water would always come as a struggle; this is because the villagers would walk for hours to the nearby source of water. But when Lifewater Canada and Stada Kenya drilled a well in the community, the villagers lives changed. They can now easily access clean and safe water, and because a source of water is nearby their homes, they no longer needed to spend hours in their search for water. As Issa Omondi reports, the villagers are able to focus more on income earning activities as they do not spend more time collecting water from far away sources of water.
