I hereby write this letter to thank the STADA foundation for the water project at St. Meshack’s Fellowship Church Orije. We as the church and community as a whole would like to thank you for the construction of the above-mentioned project at our church, educating on female gender and supplying sanitary towels to us. As the church and member of the community, we are very delighted to have our own source of water, as this project as empowered our female gender and will exempt us from moving long distances in search for clean water. In conclusion, we appreciate everything that STADA foundation has done for us and wee would urge them to continue with the good work they are doing in other places too because water is life. Yours Sincerely, Alice Ondiek
A dirty swamp was the only source of water for the villagers of St. Meshack's Orije Church community in Kisumu county. The villagers would make trips to the swamp to collect water for their families. However, the water brought home was never safe enough for drinking and therefore made them sick, thus forcing parents to attend their sick children, thus ignoring other duties that were just piling up on them, making their lives a little more complicated and difficult. Thankfully, Lifewater Canada donors funded the drilling of a new well in St. Meshack's Orije Church and installed a new hand pump, so that the residents are able to access clean and safe water from their new well, thus being safe from the effects of water-related diseases.
