On behalf of Kowiti community through the Area Chief Mr. Boniface Obiero, I write to sincerely thank your organization for the great support you extended to us in helping to dig a borehole within our community. Your generosity and commitment have provided us with a lasting solution to the challenge of water shortage. Access to clean and safe water will greatly improve our daily live, promote good health and support our children, families and support livestock. About three hundred people living in Kowiti community in Kenya's Kisumu county would wash and drink from a nearby contaminated river. The residents dealt with diseases such as diarrheal whenever they would drink from unsafe sources. The situation was even worse when it rained and flooded because dirty water would flow into various sources of water, making them unsafe for drinking. However, Lifewater Canada partnered with Stada Kenya to construct a new well for people of Kowiti, and install a new hand pump. The resident are gratefully enjoying clean and safe water from their communal well.
