Dukpa I is a small community in Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT Abuja, home to hardworking families who depend on farming and local trades to make a living. For many years, the people of Dukpa I struggled with water scarcity. They had to travel long distances to collect water from unsafe sources, which often caused health problems, especially for children and the elderly. Waterborne diseases became rampant, and the people suffered greatly. Lifewater stepped in and drilled a new borehole for the residents of Dukpa I, bringing safe water directly to the community. The impact was felt immediately. Women and children no longer spend hours fetching water, and illnesses related to unsafe water have decreased significantly. With easier access to water, families now have more time to focus on farming and daily activities, improving their health and livelihoods. The people of Dukpa I are deeply thankful to Lifewater for bringing hope and a fresh start to their community.
