Al-Huda Academy is a well-known school in Kwali Area Council, FCT Abuja. The school provides both academic and Islamic education to children from different parts of the area. For years, the school community struggled with access to clean water. Students and teachers depended on a shallow hand-dug well that often went dry, especially during the hot season. At times, they had to buy water from vendors or send pupils with jerrycans to nearby houses to fetch water for drinking and cleaning. Classrooms became dusty without enough water for cleaning, and many students complained of thirst and tiredness during lessons. Some even suffered from waterborne illnesses because the available water was not always safe to drink. Lifewater stepped in and drilled a new borehole within the school compound, providing a steady supply of safe water for the students and staff. The new borehole brought huge relief to everyone at Al-Huda Academy. Teachers can now focus on lessons instead of worrying about water. Students stay hydrated and healthy, and the school environment is cleaner and more comfortable. The management and students of Al-Huda Academy are deeply grateful to Lifewater for this kind and timely intervention that has improved hygiene, learning conditions, and brought joy to the entire school community.
