We, the members of Kuka II community under Kwali Area Council in FCT, Abuja, Nigeria heartly express our profound gratitude to Lifewater Nigeria, its management, staffs and employee for drilling a borehole in our church free of charge. We are indeed grateful and pray the Almighty God continue to bless Lifewater across the boarders in Jesus precious name. Yours faithfully, D.N. Patrick
Kuka II is a smaller settlement in Ashara ward, Kwali Area Council, where people are farmers, herders, and small-scale traders. For many years, the community struggled to get safe water. Most families depended on a stagnant pond and open wells. The pond was often dirty, especially after rains, and dried up during dry periods. Children would wake before dawn to walk long distances through dangerous bushes, carrying heavy jerrycans. Because the water source was unprotected, cattle also drank there, making the water contaminated. Women and the elderly fell ill frequently with waterborne illnesses. Lifewater installed a new borehole with a hand pump, making safe water accessible to most households. Safe water reduced the distance and time women spend fetching water, and waterborne illness dropped noticeably. The people of Kuka II are thankful to Lifewater for restoring health and hope. Safe water has brought them renewed energy for farming and schooling.
