Glomass is a vibrant community along the outskirts of Kuje Area Council, FCT Abuja, where people live simple, hardworking lives. For many years, residents lacked safe water. They depended on a shallow stream that dried up when rains stopped. During dry season, women and children trekked over an hour to find water, often returning with dirty, unsafe water shared by animals and humans. Children frequently fell sick with typhoid, and families spent scarce money on medicine instead of food. When Lifewater drilled a new well at the heart of the community, it marked the beginning of a new chapter. The people watched in excitement as safe water began to flow for the first time. Since then, Glomass has changed. Mothers no longer wake before dawn to fetch water, children stay healthy and attend school regularly, and the community looks brighter and cleaner. The people of Glomass express deep gratitude to Lifewater for their timely and life-changing intervention that has brought renewed hope and improved quality of life.
