A message from the community

I, on behalf of Idah Ishugu in Musha III community, wishes to appreciate Lifewater Nigeria for coming to rehabilitate our village borehole for free. Before now, our women trek distance kilometer to fetch water from unclean stream meant for animal consumption. Today, we can be proud of good drinkable water that you graciously provided for us. Musha III is a small farming community in Obi Local Government, where families work hard on their farms to earn a living. For a long time, the community depended on one borehole for their safe water needs. When it stopped working, people had no choice but to travel far to find water from unsafe sources shared with animals. This put women and children at risk of snake bites, and young girls were molested several times because the path was lonely and covered by bushes. The consumption of dirty water caused many health problems, especially for children. Lifewater came to Musha III and rehabilitated the broken borehole. Now safe water flows again close to home. Women have more time for farming and taking care of their families, girls are no longer at risk of molestation, and children attend school without worrying about fetching water. The community is grateful, feeling healthier and stronger with safe water nearby.
