The community of Kanyunga wish to say a big thank you to Lifewater Canada and Lifewater RESCUE Kenya for our new well. This well has now solved all our water problems, and for that, we are deeply grateful. We promise to take care of it. From, Kanyunga Community

People of Kanyunga community in Mwingi region had no source of clean water for years. They relied on shallow wells in dry riverbeds to meet their water needs. Shallow wells were not just unsafe source of water, but the process of collecting water from a shallow well sometimes posed danger to the villagers as some of the wells’ walls would collapse on residents causing injuries or even death. However, Lifewater Canada ensured that the residents of Kanyunga have a safe place to collect the much-needed water by funding the construction of a well in the community and installing a hand pump. Everyone in Kanyunga community is happy to have easy access to clean water, and to be safe while collecting water.
