Children and adults living in Dnapu Dapugi I always relied on open hand-dug wells and a distant river for their water. These sources dry up during dry seasons and contributed to disease epidemics because of their high levels of fecal contamination. The community had given up all hope of having safe water, so our assistance came as a welcome surprise when we arrived and drilled a well that is meeting everyone's water needs.
