Buoye Chief's Camp

We, the people of Buoye community, wish to give thanks to Lifewater and Stada Kenya for enabling us to have access to clean and safe water by drilling us a well. We are deeply grateful to have access to clean and safe water. May God bless you all. ---Community Leaders

While the residents of Buoye Chief's Camp community in Kenya's Kisumu county relied on a nearby river for water, the water was not just unsafe for drinking, but community's only water source would dry up during dry seasons. The residents would then walk for several kilometers to the next nearby water source for water. The trips would take up so much of the women's time that they could not engage in income-earning activities. Thanks to our donors, the Buoye Chief's Camp has a new well, fully equipped with a new hand pump. Thanks to our donors who enabled us to drill a new well for the community, and with the new well came a promise of constant supply of clean and safe water for everyone in the village.
