A message from the community

On behalf of the school, we take this opportunity to express our utmost gratitude to Lifewater Canada for the provision of a new toilet for our students. The best gift anyone could have given us is a means to improve our hygiene. We are grateful.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Alendu Primary School in Kisumu County has 704 students. As enrollment has increased, so has demand on the school's toilets -- making it very difficult for everyone to maintain good hygiene practices. Because they were old, there was a also growing risk that the toilets might collapse someday with one or more students inside. Unfortunately, the community is desperately poor so residents couldn't afford to upgrade the school's sanitation facilities.

However, thanks to our donors, Lifewater has built new toilets and hand-washing stations at the school. Students are grateful for this important step in improving their hygiene and providing a safer environment in which to learn.

Every $1 you give provides a child with safe water for a year!
