Nyakach in Kisumu County is surrounded by large rivers, and while there is no problem in having enough water for farming, the community had no safe water for human consumption after the hand pump on the local well stopped working. Children and adults were forced to rely on the rivers and other contaminated sources, which put them at risk of waterborne illnesses. But recently, through the generosity of our donors, Lifewater repaired the pump. Safe water is flowing again in Nyakach.
