Children and adults in Koketch had no access to safe water for months after the hand-powered pump on the community's only well stopped functioning. When attempts to fix the pump failed, everyone began walking to and from the river for their water. The river is dirty so it put the entire community at risk of contacting potentially deadly diarrheal diseases. Then Lifewater, through the generosity of our donors, visited and repaired the pump. Safe water is available to everyone again.
