A message from the community

We thank you so much for bringing good water back to us through the repair of our hand pump. Our community was in need of clean and safe water. We are happy! -- Community Leaders

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

When the hand pump on Wangaya's well broke down, villagers started walking for several kilometers each day in search of safe water. The old and the weak who could not manage long walks or heavy loads of water were left to drink whatever they could find in contaminated creeks and rivers nearby -- putting them at great risk of contracting diarrheal diseases. Thanks to our donors, Lifewater has repaired the pump so safe water is available again to young and old in Wangaya.
