Many of the water wells we drill -- plus the hand pumps we repair, rainwater catchment and storage systems we install, toilets we build, and hand-washing stations we provide -- are in school yards.
These photos show just a few of the tens of thousands of students, young and old, who now have safe and accessible water for drinking and washing, thanks to donors like you.
When students are no longer thirsty, or missing classroom time while they collect water from the nearest dirty creek and pond, they can focus on their education and plan for a better future.
Notice how many of these photos are of girls. They are much more likely than boys to miss class time when there is no water -- because they are gone collecting it, or because when they get to the age of menstruation, no water means no dignified way to toilet and sanitize. So they stay home from school and become increasingly likely to drop out.
For these girls, a new water well or repaired pump or rainwater storage tank is truly life-transforming.
