On behalf of Kyavuka village, we wish to say a big thank you to Lifewater Canada and Lifewater RESCUE Kenya for the repair of our broken hand pump. It feels good that after two years of spending so much money to access clean water, we now have readily available water from our well. Thank you all so much for your help.
---Community Leaders
For two years, over three hundred residents of Kyavuka community in Mwingi region struggled to access clean and safe drinking and washing water. Even though the community has a well that has affordable clean water, they were forced to spend at least 6 CAD weekly on water. The high prices of water strained their already tight budget, but they had no option given that their well’s hand pump had been broken for years.
But recently, our hand pump repair team visited the village and repaired the broken hand pump. Thanks to Lifewater Canada donors, everyone in Kyavuka village has access to affordable clean and safe drinking water.
