A message from the community

"Thank you very much for the well. We have been suffering for water in our community. We know how hard it is to work in Haiti with all the political problems. May God keep you safe." -- Shela Mesidor, the Nan Madame community's new Lifewater-trained Well Caretaker

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

When they needed to fetch water, which was at least three times a day, people living in the Haitian village of Nan Madame had to walk almost an hour to a well in a neighboring community. Many of Nan Madame's residents made the trip three times a day -- which kept children from school and adults caring for their families. Now there is a new well in Nan Madame, provided by generous Lifewater Canada donors, and people there are deeply thankful.
