Dear Sponsor: Peace be to your organization from the almighty Allah, the most gracious and the most merciful. On behalf our mosque, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to your for your immense efforts in rehabilitating our pump (and well) that has been established in 1997 and has not been in use for about 18 years. We remain grateful to the almighty Allah and to your organization (Lifewater Liberia). - Imam Adama H. Mazfoure
The mosque and the well are along Bassa Town Road. Lifewater installed a hand pump on the well in 1997. It was very helpful for the community but in 2003, during the civil war in Liberia, the hand pump was damaged and could no longer be used. Since that time, for about 18 years, the mosque and the community have lacked safe drinking water. They have sought other sources for domestic use but these sources were not always safe. For the mosque's water needs, people would often volunteer to bring water to the prayer times. The Lifewater repair team worked very hard to restore the hand pump for the mosque and the people of Bassa Town. All are grateful.
