A message from the community |

We write to appreciate Lifewater for rehabilitating our community hand pump, which has been in a very bad condition. We are pleased to say that this modern hand pump will be a great help to the entire Goba Ahop Community in ensuring safe and clean drinking water. We also pray that almighty God will continue to bless Lifewater and its sponsors for their support of our community.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Goba Chop Community is in the commercial district of Paynesville City, in Liberia’s Montserrado County, with over 2,000 inhabitants. It is a commercial centre where marketers come from up country to buy local products, mostly vegetables and other foods. The people of Goba Chop used to get their water from open hand-dug wells that were not safe. In 2006, Lifewater drilled a deep well and erected a hand pump. This was a major source of clean water for the marketplace. When the pump finally failed, Goba Chop inhabitants lacked safe drinking water. They were forced to buy water, which caused serious economic difficulties for the population. They are very glad their well is working again. |
