Thank you very much, Lifewater. Our well and hand pump were donated by a missionary who passed away three year ago. All the well parts were bad because we have ocean water in our community and the salt water damaged the metal in the pump.
We were afraid to contact Lifewater because our well was not drilled by them. One day we decided to go to their office. We talked to them and they were very happy to help us. Now we have a completely new pump. Thank you very much. May God continue to protect all the Lifewater employees and their families.
-- Norcius Charles, Well Caretaker and Community Leader
Lifewater's repair teams are often very busy repairing or replacing the hand-powered pumps installed by other organizations no longer available to provide long-term support. Ruelle Pudwell is a good example. The Haitian community was delighted when a missionary arranged for a well to be drilled three years ago. But when the missionary died and the hand-powered pump failed, the people of Ruelle Pudwell were forced to walk long distances to get safe water.
Thanks to our donors, Lifewater was able to replace the broken-down pump so the children and adults in Ruelle Pudwell have all the water they need for drinking, cooking, sanitation, and other needs. We also trained and equipped a local well caretaker so he can maintain the well, conduct minor repairs, and contact us if major repairs are necessary.
