We want to take this time to appreciate Lifewater for bringing safe drinking water to our community. As the saying goes, "water is life." You have given us life, hope, and good health. Thank you so much. -- Meluin D. Toe and James G. Yarham, Community Leaders |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Duazon Public School Community is in Liberia's Margibi County. The residents are engaged into gardening and small trading to sustain themselves and their families. For their water, people depended on shallow, hand-dug wells that are generally unsafe. To obtain safe drinking water, people who could barely afford it would buy from local vendors or walk long distances during the dry season to the nearest natural source. Fetching this water often kept children out of their classrooms when they badly need a good education.
Recently, Lifewater Canada donors enabled our team to visit Duazon and drill a well that is providing safe and accessible water to not only the school but the entire community. Local leaders offered the team a hearty welcome and provided both lodging and food to the members throughout their stay. Later, the leaders thanked Lifewater for the new well and also for the health and hygiene training workshop that came with it. |
