Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Hope community is within Cotton Tree community, in Liberia's Margibi Country. Hope is large with many people engaged in agricultural activities or in burning wood to create charcoal as a fuel source. Residents who founded the community in 2010 decided to call it "Hope" because although it had no nearby source of safe water or other services, they hoped the situation would improve some day. Meanwhile, they drank from shallow wells or creeks that were contaminated -- causing outbreaks of diarrhea and typhoid. The situation in Hope improved dramatically when Lifewater arrived recently and drilled a deep well that is now providing safe and accessible water to everyone. Hope's leaders warmly thanked the Lifewater team and our donors for this "kind gesture." |
