Kaibo Fulani is in the Keffi area of Nigeria's Nasarawa State. The community is in three clusters, with each having a water well 15-20 minutes apart from the others. When two of the three wells failed, residents quickly cried out to us for help. The water crisis in Kaibo Fulani was making life especially difficult for the women because require water for not only their household needs but their small farms. Thanks to Lifewater Canada donors, both of the broken wells (including this one) have been rehabilitated and safe, accessible water is flowing for everyone again. The rehabilitations include new hand-powered pumps. When we completed our work, the joy on people's faces -- especially the man -- was priceless. When we asked why the men were so happy, one named Aminu told us: "Our women go through a lot, and our culture demands they do the suffering while smiling and keeping the home running."
