Unification City, Zone 3, Quarter 2, is along the Robert International Airport Road in Lower Margibi County. It has a relatively large population, with most residents earning a living from small farms, gardening, and commercial trading. To meet their water needs, people depended on hand-dug wells that are open to the elements and therefore vulnerable to bacteria. Due to contamination of the water, incidences of diarrhea, skin rashes, and other illnesses were common in Unification City. Thanks to Lifewater Canada donors, new wells (including this one) have been drilled in the area. Consistently safe, accessible water is available for everyone. We also hosted Health and Hygiene workshops to ensure residents know how to ensure the water from their new wells doesn't become contaminated, and how to prevent various illnesses. |
