Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

River View Community is one of Liberia’s urban slums in Margibi County. It is a predominantly Muslim community that always relied on a well drilled in the early part of the Liberian Civil War. The pump broke and remained that way for four years. During that challenging time, residents would walk for 30 to 45 minutes several times a day in search of safe drinking water. In some cases, children (especially girls) would miss hours or days at school while carrying water. Therefore, when Lifewater donors funded a complete rehabilitation of the well, including replacement of the pump, the people of River View Community expressed great joy to see safe and accessible water flowing again. Community leaders, on behalf of all residents, thank Lifewater and our partners for restoring their well. |
