A message from the community

On behalf of Kalwuilla Primary School, I thank Lifewater Canada for providing a rainwater harvesting and storage tank so we can harvest more water. Thank you for serving us in this major way.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Kalwuilla Primary School in Mwingi central constituency, in Kenya's Kitui County, has 91 students. Because the school couldn't afford to buy water for everyone, and because it had very little ability to harvest and store water, students were expected to bring enough water to school each day for their own needs.

Thanks to our donors, Lifewater Canada recently installed a rainwater catchment system which includes a large 10,000-litre storage tank and handwashing station. Now, there is enough capacity to gather and store water during the rainy season to meet everyone's need during the dry season too, says Laban Kisewa, the school’s deputy headteacher.
