As students of Kanyungu Primary School, we appreciate Lifewater Canada’s provision of a rainwater harvesting and storage tank. We live in a dry place and for the most part of the year, harvested rainwater is our hope. Thank you so much. |

Project Summary |

Kanyungu Primary School in Mwingi central constituency, in Kenya's Kitui County, has 108 students. They rarely had water for drinking or handwashing because the school couldn't afford to buy it and lacked facilities to harvest enough rainwater for everyone. Recently, Lifewater Canada donors provided a rainwater catchment system that includes a large 10,000-litre storage tank and handwashing station. Now, students have enough water year-round for drinking and sanitation. Being able to gather and store water in the rainy season is the best protection again the dry season, says Joseph Musyoka, a teacher at the school. |
