Project Summary |

Kenzilu ECD in Mwingi central constituency, in Kenya's Kitui County has 47 students. Because there was no source nearby, parents were expected to bring water to the school for their children each day. However, because they were busy trying to earn a living for their family, parents would bring water only occasionally. On most days, children could not drink or wash. Lifewater Canada donors recently provided a rainwater catchment system that includes a large 10,000-litre storage tank and handwashing station. Now, the school can gather and store water during the rainy season for use during the dry season. Ruth Kalunda, a teacher, says the system has ensured the school has water throughout the year, therefore making life easier both for parents and students. |
