The Kilindini Primary School community would like to extend our appreciation to Lifewater Canada for the gift of a rainwater harvesting and storage tank and handwashing station. The facilities have improved the health of our students. We are grateful for that. |

Project Summary |
||||||||||||||||||
Kilindini Primary School in Mwingi central constituency, in Kenya's Kitui County, has 56 students. Because there is no source nearby, the students had enough water to drink only when it rained. Although the school tried to invest in rainwater harvesting, the storage capacity remained very limited, so students would go without water throughout the dry season. Lifewater Canada donors recently provided a rainwater catchment system which includes a large 10,000-litre storage and handwashing station. Now, students have enough water for drinking and handwashing during the rainy season and dry season. |
