Project Summary |
||||||||||||||||||
Kiange Primary School in Mwingi central constituency, in Kenya's Kitui County, has 64 students. The school that was started by the community has had financial struggles for a long time and therefore could not afford to buy a storage tank for harvesting rainwater or to buy water for the students from local vendors. The school community was very grateful when Lifewater Canada, thanks to our donors, installed a rainwater catchment and storage system that includes a large 10,000-litre and hand-washing station. Now the students and staff can gather water during the rain season to meet their drinking and sanitation needs during the dry season. Jane Musyoki, a teacher at the school, says they always dreamed of having a storage tank but the price was far beyond what they could ever afford. |
